HOW LONG HAVE U BEEN A RAVER?

delsantosstar Drumcode 4 Life on July 22nd, 2006 / post 7950
I started going to dance clubs about once a month when I turned 18 in 1994 in Portland, Oregon.  My first party with proper DJs was in an abandoned warehouse in Portland in 1996.  Jackie Christie was the headliner, I don't remember the name but it was really cool with a serious underground vibe.

yeah, i totally agree with you, and yes i know what you are talking about and actually thats one of the reasons which made me stop going to raves .. there is no comparison between old raves and the new shit now, for example, Steve Lawler came to Egypt two times, the first was in 2002 and it was a kind of private one and the set was amazing and so was the crowd, the second one was in 2004 and what a difference, really i saw alot of people flooding the place, they know nothing about music, maybe they didnt know who is playing .. now, most of the people just go to shake their asses !!

I have been into the music since 1986 when I bought Farley Jackmaster Funks - LOVE CAN'T TURN AROUND on 12", first rave though was METRO in Saltcoats (Nr Glasgow) in May 1991, still into now, though not as much, as much as the mind wants it, the body says not. Its no good saying its not as good as it was PPL, anyone can say that about any music scene, the thing with rave is its an ever evolving scene which is what always set it apart from the rest. And made it the best, if you think its in decline then get into Djing and/or Production and give a little back.

I ve been a raver since 1994 and as my memory tells.. there was a Dj competition in the place that called Seqioua now in Zamalek, Cairo...  me and a friend just went to check it out...

Alot of foriegn Dj's, scratching .. and the most common song was played .. THE NIGHTRAIN...

IT was a hit dance track this summer and everybody was playing it in different ways and scratching.

then i remember alsoo very well.. the one after that.. was MInistry of Sound @ Roots, Maadi.

Music Sounds Better with you .. i think alot of you guys can recall this track.. was massive in its time.

Since then there was nothign stoping me :) i missed only few big events that happened in my country..
