Mind you i realise that i am 5 months late but i always have and always will support Trance because i have a soft spot for it. It was the genre that slowly introduced me to the world of electronic music.
I would love to keep on supporting Trance but for me, it has lost the producers making new and innovative stuff to WOW me, of course this is just me and taking into consideration how popular ASOT is, they probably greatly outnumber fans like me.
THAT Sasha and Digweed set from WMC, is such a mint/beautiful/unbelievable/godly/crazy/banging set.... At the time is was so hard for me to appreciate it, but now i rate it with my all time greatets sets ever (mainly the Sasha part but still the two hours are pretty special)

Here is my 2 cents.
I've been listening to electronic music for nearly 3 years now and I consider myself an addict to good electronic music, wether it be trance, tribal, house, electro, progressive etc.....
When I first got into the music I didn't know any Dj's and living in Canada there are no radio's or stores that sell this sort of music commercially. I also didn't have any friends the listened to this sort of music, so I ended up downloading sets from random places and that's how I was able to get to know Dj's, not by word of mouth like many other people in Europe. In all the forums I noticed that people loved sasha and digweed and I Downloaded many sets / tracks of theirs and I can say that I only liked 2 tracks by them (Burma and I am). Their sets to me seemed like it was too slow, no buildups and nothing attractive about it. Digweed is gonna play here in like 6 days and I'm not even gonna go see him since I can't seem to enjoy his music.
As for AVB I love his radio show, I always download it and listen to it on the way to school as his music is so uplifting and always has a nice melody to it. I went to his show last summer and I didn't like it though as it was the same style as his shows, it wasn't the type of music that you could dance to, it was the music that would be great to listen to on the beach or on your ipod. For example, dubfire's radio sets are very techy and are great to listen to on the ipod or the car, but when I went to his show he played a bit faster music that people could dance to and enjoy while on the dance floor.

Hey sep08,
I found a general progression, i loved trance music but there just wasn't enough to keep me in the genre but i'm sure that if you like listening to Dubfire live, i wouldn't miss going to see Digweed.... Yes he might build up with some slower deeper stuff but by the time he gets into the home run i can assure you he will be banging it out.....
For example, when Sasha and Digweed where playing in Space, Miami back in 2006 they had alot of popular house music influence in there sets, We are your friends, madonna, funkgenda etc etc but then we he plays out in a nightclub its completley different i.e. https://tribalmixes.com/#/details.php%25QUid=19012&hit=1&ajaxloader=1 which was around the same time as March that year... very banging. Another Sasha classic from 2005 is (Live @ play.fm/ Live @ Lush, Portrush (03-09-2005)..... have you heard these sets? Your thoughts?
And if you didn't like his essential mix he just did, understand that he was the first dj on the show (2nd if you include the warm-up dj) and i think it would be unprofessional if he started banging out amazing prog especially when the swedish house mafia was following him and then eddie halliwell was following them....

Thanks for the recommendations, I will definetly give the set a listen and I might end up going since its only $30. Vancouver is finally starting to get some big names, we have Trentemoller, D.Ramirez, Gabriel & dresden all coming in the next 2 months :)

its hard if u put the best duel sasha & digweed with my favorite and the best dj of the year
but i'll go AvB ,cause i just can't get enought of his show and sets
but if u ask me
it should be sasha & digweed Vs deepdish Vs James Zabiela & Nic Fanciulli Vs Gabriel & Dresden
thats a battle of which is the best duel of this year and the best of all time

Yep but the most awesome mashup i had heard was Zabeila vs Sasha vs Fanciulli for an hour at 7am, that was madness
