UPLOADERS and SEEDERS dont be afraid!

this goes to those new users who really HAVE something to share and really WANT to share.

sharing is good in any ways you can describe. first of all it gets your ratio higher, and beign higher is all we need... and then also you wont have to wait to get new music when you share lots of stuff. and of course we will all be happy if new music appears around here.

so the message itself is:::

there is NO WAIT TIME if you want to upload something and start seeding it right away

it means that regular waiting time period scale is not used here, so if your ratio is small or your upload amount is not high enough, this is the BEST way to tremendously speed up the growth of your ratio and stats.

I'm quite new to bittorrent, using BitComet 0.58. I've created some torrents, uploaded them, they appear as dead. My problem is they appear in my client as "leeching", not as seeding. I've pushed the start button, but nothing happens (0 seeders available), it tries to download my share :)  How can I make those torrents  available? Could this be because of my firewall, or am i stupid? :)

you firewall - no. but, you still have a problem with it. you should really look up in bitcomet which port (list of ports) its using and open them in firewall. and also in the same place you should allow bitcomet to listen to incoming connections (in firewall that is).

as on your torrents... you're trying to seed directories and when trying to open torrents in bitcomet you should point them 'where to save files' or something onto those directories. means you can't just open torrents in your client, you have to show where to save them and there you already have full copy. did that help?

Firewall seems to be ok (others can download from me that i've downloaded), i've set those paths... now bitcomet doesn't create any new directories, those files are there, but nothing happens, still standing at 0,0%... Tried almost everything, i think i'll try another client in the morning, hope this helps :)

hey, everyone can download from you, but that is only when you are downloading from them. because you are NOT CONNECTABLE, which means that when you finally get all the files and start seeding without leeching, no users will be able to connect to you to start getting files from you, because your firewall or isp blocks ports on which bittorrent program is listening.

added later: after a little investigation i've noticed that you are connectable and everything is fine with you. :) it's just the client you are using is bugging with seeding. but still that info should really be used by all others who are yet not connectable.

and try to get Azureus 2.2.0.2, check the 'links' on your left, which is very popular and pretty good for seeding and leeching simultaneously. and again, when you install azureus and run it for the first time, firewall must ask you what permissions to give to the program. give it full access on all ports! it won't hurt you at all (cause you are protected from any intrusion by that firewall) but will make you connectable and will sure let you seed no problem.

Just when I thought I found another cool DIRECT-DOWNLOAD site, which by the way are slowly making their way towards the endangered species list, I get hit with yet another TORRENT supporter. This is a bullshit marketing scheme that needs to end. SEEDS?!? COOKIES?!? The only seeds I use are the ones that grow my weed. Let me guess, i'm what you people call the leech. DIRECT DOWNLOADS 4EVER!!

well then why don't you just go back to your peer2peer programs buddy, cause it is either bittorent or that.

and if you like leecheing so much, then how about you just GIVE me all of your weed and i won't give you nothing in return. because it is the same thing as you just coming here and take take take.

go ahead and leech what you can while you can because it wont take to much longer for your ip/account to be banned.
