I am actually looking forward to this one. Of course he is signed to Flying Lotus' label and he is a yank ( ) and he plays underground hip hop but its better than the wank played by hardwell among others. I hope its great like DJ Shadow's shit. I do not listen to hip hop but the odd underground shit should at least be entertaining...like a 5.7/10, which is better than the hardwell, yousef and any of the crap running

i posted this as comment, but i will cc it here, cause it's what i think of this week's EM:
i'm actually listening to the set right now. at first i figured this is some joker or other type of shit, some rebel against the society, since he explains that the gaslamp was the district where he performed in some bar or something, and part killer is because he used to clear the dance floors because of his weird selection of tracks.. but...
now i am quite fascinated with the sound of this mix. it's more of the James Lavelle and UNKLE sound, not necessarily their tracks, but the play with the sound - it's amazing, and the selection of tracks... omg... Radiohead? Jon Wayne? Portishead? Louis Armstrong? Nine Inch Nails? Flying Lotus? Black Sabbath? Aphex Twin? Led Zeppelin? and a mo-fo all time favorite of mine Ennio Morricone, the mastermind composer behind literally ALL of the music of French Cinematography of second half of 20th century...
to be honest, i am going to finish this EM, and i truly like it. very good stuff!!
my rating? ghm... 7.3/10 for never-ending courage back in the day..

will give it a try then...if you think it was in the unkle form. I was hoping for dj shadow style really because he played the only hip hop I dug.

love it really
guy has balls to drop NIN, Legend of Zelda , Clockwork Orange, Ennio Morricone, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath among Louie Armstrong. Rates highly in my book! just for the tracklist!
none of this predictable wank that Tong is pushing!....
Love the unpredictable shit!
now time to listen to it...lol

about an hour in and its just outstanding. Its not predictable (like a gareth emery set ) plus it put in my fave IDIOTEQUE and then played legend of zelda from the first NES game on radio 1...mad props for that!. It reminds me of a bit of UNKLE at times, cept lavelle tended to throw a lot of acapellas over weird beats (UNKLE EM 2002, put tears for fears - shout c'mon over a DMX track to great effect). Its not at that lavelle level but there is only one lavelle! but this is great so far. A 8.5 so far, which is a ton better than most of the recent EMs, which have been gash except the mighty Deetron.
