Yeh, that sounds like a treat Andy!

Oh i do like good Polish or Russian Vodka, our National holiday in January we have turned into a Vodka sampling day, usually there are bottles and bottles and bottles to enjoy!

Has anyone tried any Australian beers?

Fosters? YUCK!

That being said, I rarely drink Canadian Beer, so weak. Prefer the European stuff...

see in Ontario, the government controls the liquor. The Beer Store sells ummmm BEER and its owned by Molson/Labatt and the third piece of shit company...???. Anyway if you want BEER besides that, you must go to the LCBO outlets (owned by the Ontario Government and made a profit of 1.5 Billion last year for the ONtario Government. Besides that, you have a few specialty wine stores and that's it...fucking CONTROL

anyway, if anyone wants to buy me something nice for my birthday...hey the bottle is older than me!

GLENFIDDICH 40 YEARS OLD RARE COLLECTION PURE SINGLE MALT SC

I like the LCBO, they have nice staff (earning 22/hr +) but very smart staff who know the products. Everything from a low range wine bottle to high high end luxury bottle and they can order it if they do not have it.

So next week's alcohol will be SCOTCH WHISKY and all the fun stuff that goes with it. VODKA is the week after...should be a great discussion.

If you are going to drink alcohol, drink the good stuff, not the shite!

Grey Goose slides down way too easy.... A few sips and a 700ml bottle is gone....

"Green Mark" is the best Vodka in my very limited tasting history....

The county of Herefordshire is usually known for it's great beef , lots of cattle round these parts !! However Chase distillery produces some top notch Vodka, I highly recommend

Chase Vodka
Voted Best Vodka by San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2010

Devotees of Chase Vodka – the only English potato vodka – will be able to buy their tipple from hundreds of supermarket outlets as a result of a tie-up with Sainsbury's.

Chase Vodka was named last March as the "World's Best Vodka" at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, beating 249 rivals from around the world. Now it is to go on sale in 280 Sainsbury's stores later this month.

Its manufacturer, Chase Distillery, recently agreed a deal with Waitrose to sell the product in all its 230-plus stores, up from 80 initially.

A single bottle of Chase Vodka – made from up to 150 potatoes – sells for £32 a bottle but has attracted a huge fan base worldwide. It is made entirely from potatoes grown on the Chase family farm in Herefordshire and Chase is currently the only UK distillery to make spirits from homegrown ingredients.Chase Distillery was founded by William Chase, who created the posh crisp brand Tyrrells Crisps which he sold to private equity for £30m in 2008. He said: "We are delighted that Sainsbury's have recognised the quality and genuine provenance of Chase Vodka. We are proud to be linked with a retailer of their prominence."

Chase Distillery currently produces around 5,000 bottles a week and exports to the US, Canada, Brazil, UAE, Australia, Europe and China. The distillery is also looking to increase its output of relatively new marmalade vodka, and also makes apple vodka, apple gin and fruit liqueurs. The company only employs 10 people at the Herefordshire operation.

Chase's managing director Kate Shropshire said of Chase Vodka: "As export markets grow … we believe that we have the potential to reach 25,000 bottles per week in sales. We are currently installing a second still to help boost production and we are seeking advice on releasing 'vodka bonds' to fund expansion in the distillery."

I had grey goose in Miami and never again.. tasted absolutely vile... horrible after taste.. personally the french make good wine and cheese... not vodka.. the best I have had was russian moskovaya or some of the lithuanian brands (lithuanian gold, even neat). Not tried the polish vodka, but am sure they are better than grey goose...

Stolichnaya is the standard... for me... always nice taste and reasonable (cheaply priced) when I'm behind the old iron curtain!!

They sell Polish vodka in the local supermarket here ... lovely stuff

I only drink it after it's been in the freezer for a few hours though, best way for me!

It doesn't matter if its filtered 500 times you french git, it still tastes like off-drain-water with a horrendous after taste. In this instance you don't have a French leg to stand on, seen as though you are basing your experience on what you think is good. Just because its expensive doesn't make it taste great.  I suggest you try Lithuanian, Russian or Polish vodka...!!!

Honestly I would rather be Oreos bitch, than ever drink any vodka main in France, I might as well go to Siberia to get some salami and cheese rounded off with a lovely merlot from turkmenistan!!!

My Yarkshire taste buds are still more refined than your garlic munching onion palette, you  frenc          h reject!!!

The only thing they do well here is Musat, general plonk and cider! But that's plenty enough for me.
