it's not just recording stuff. it's always something new, it's finding ways to trick those who don't want you to record this stuff, it's interesting and mind bending sometimes.. it's also exciting to know you're recording 3 rooms and 2 other streams, you know what i mean? it's kinda trasure, it's live video that is only on for a little bit, and then only you and select few have it.. i get off on many factors, to be honest... =)

Very true...however I would be more choosy on what to rip...once I have swapped over my i7 Nuc with my T1000 server I will look at ripping some streams!!

well, at this point it may still be ok, kinda... 40 names for 27 hours, making it maybe half hour per set, but i am sure some shit will go wrong.. wtf they all run to yahoo and twitch and shit? i doubt they get 200k viewers on yahoo... or ultra did on twitch... damn... does yahoo pay them to have their 'partnership'.

Thank you for capturing this Jerpaa! Even though the stream was a huge downgrade from last year, some recorded memories are better than none! It was an awesome party live!

Due to some of the hate on this thread on EDC prior to the event, I wanted to share something positive.
I thought some of you old schoolers (like myself) who still appreciate parties and how the scene has evolved and what it has retained, would enjoy this review from an oldschooler's perspective (not mine). EDC got a warm reception from Frankie Bones and the "I Raved in SOCAL in the 90's" facebook group in about a 70 comment thread. PLUR and rave lives on at EDC as it's epicenter all these years, since it's creation in the US by Frankie in the early 90's (earlier in EU), thanks to Pasquale. If you ever get the chance to go, don't miss it for the experience and I'd be happy to show you around!
If you have gone and don't like it, the friendly vibe, music, or PLUR regardless... I respect your opinion and walk of life. Hate is for the weak.
Respect and love,
-K

great post Kastribal! I enjoyed reading the deadlybuda write up. As an old school NY raver myself (and old friend of Frankie), it's refreshing to see that while the events and festivals today are vastly different to the warehouse parties of old, some promoters pay attention to the evolution of the rave and put in the extra time and effort to make it more than just a money grab!

1. damn, there are people reading the forum, nice! =)
2.damn, when will i get praised so much for sharing video? =) me jelly... just kidding... =)
to the topic: oldschool or not, my first club was back in russia in 1996, my first rave was in usa in new york, i think it was one of the last Countdowns, done in Key State Arena in Bronx, New York. was 2001 i think.. so i basically skipped the best times of "good ole times".. but i still will say, i didn't know Frankie Bones was somehow associated with EDC, and that actually really makes stuff grow,,, Frankie Bones, the Army of One, - best shit ever!!
read on, brothers!!

Slash, you do a ton of work for the community here too and ripped the full sat sets. Thank you too for all you do for us, you guys work hard and I do really appreciate it How was the scene in Russia? That would have been awesome to experience!
My first rave was a Moontribe gathering back in summer of 96ish in Socal. I was a part of Moontribe till about 99 going to monthly full moon gatherings, various LA warehouse breakins, small $5 parties, and several "massives" at the time with several thousand people. When I was younger I hated massives with a passion because a lot of the vibe was lost on them, Insomniac parties (even then) were different though for some reason. I stopped raving NYE of 2000 until 2011 when EDC moved to Las Vegas because it was an oldschool all night party to 6-7am and sounded like fun. My mind was blown with the production value and vibe of it and I've continued going every year since. I don't do clubs or other parties for the most part throughout the year. EDC is my one pilgrimage every year and holds a special place in my heart. Seriously, if you guys ever get a chance to go you won't be disappointed.
Frankie has been to several EDC's, has posted some pictures from 2012's, and from what I've seen has a lot of respect for Pasquale due to Pasquale's history in the underground and pushing it to evolve while keeping PLUR alive and true. Other massives outside of Insomniac that are looking for a cash grab tho, not so much.
Anyways, thanks again for the work you guys do for this site. I found it last year and it's awesome because of the community here. Thank you

Personally, I've been into electronic music since the early 90's and partied mid 90's with moontribe (monthly) to massives on occasion and I don't see anything wrong with different styles. I respect it all and people's tastes. The music at EDC can very from awesome to crap,
I feel sorry for you...listened since the 90s and you go to this...I suggest you come to europe and try something like https://www.awakeningsfestival.nl/timetable/
No disneyland, just great music!
