Audition VS ffmpeg (libmp3lame) (also VS Audacity)

so... just an observation that i've had for a while and now i really confirmed it with this Joseph Capriati 4.5hr set...

i started 2 processes.

1 = converting FLV directly into MP3 via map 0:1 for audio with ffmpeg, and
2 = extraction of AAC from FLV, then addition of it into the Audition and saving it from there as MP3.

i can confirm, finishing this post, option 1 is still working, and mind this is basically extraction of AAC + converting it to MP3... so option 2 - using Adobe Audition - works out almost 3 times faster, than using ffmpeg. i am not even talking here of Audacity, it requires processing before anything happens, so just loading the 4.5hr mp3 there will overshadow both 1 and 2..

but the point is...

Why is corporate product Audition so much better and faster than ffmpeg (community open source project)?

also Audition made 6kb bigger file, which is not really anything on the scale of 400mb mp3.
