when i switched to utorrent some year or more ago, i was the happiest man and thought it was quite lucky that finally someone decided to make a client using c++, and not java or vb... and it came out awesome... and i don't wanna change it... damn... :( i don't know any client that will not slow down a p.4-1.7-1GB system with 800 torrents being seeded and only 20-40MB of ram used...
i will not change utorrent at all
i think i ll stick to it untill it's useless i can't find any better client

False alarm, I was downloading a bad health torrent. (althought the site was showing a good seed/leech ratio)
It depends mainly on how much torrents you want to have per a client.
For many torrents – hundreds – uTorrent an Azureus (3.0.1.6) are very good. uTorrent is more convenient but Azureus seems to be more aggressive in uploading, maybe in downloading also.
But if you have fewer torrents, maybe tenths, I think Bit Tornado is the best in the speed. Try it. When I had a fast connection I always used it for small number of active torrents – download or short term upload.

and after all, i've thought here, you can always find and keep earlier versions of utorrent, well, maybe dht handling gets changed, blocked or revamped, i don't think pure-torrent-part will change much in the nearest future, all in all, earlier versions will still be usable.
I stick with Azureus. I don't see why people complain about the performance since most clients have enough power anyway.

we've been through that many time though : azureus eats too much memory (or used to? does ver3 still eat up alof ot it?), thus people seeding hundreds of torrents on rather slow machines (line mine - p4-1.7-1GB) will have tremendously better results with utorrent, for a thousand reasons, and most important - c++. the most i was able to seed with azureus about a year-1.5yrs ago was 170 torrents. utorrent allowed 800, and i had to stop adding and remove older since i only have 200GB in hdd space, and half of it is taken by stuff..

yepdoes ver3 still eat up alof ot it?
Yeah true, Java reserves pretty much of the memory. However, Azureus still offers more configuration possibilities than uTorrent does - that's most important for me.

Its not due to the rumors, its just that I really cant find any reason for the low downloading rates I have these days except that there must b sth going on with utorrent...
So if any1 knows a good client out there that is similar to utorrent and doesnt use all of pc's resources, please help.
