Making NEW EXCITING TOP 20 TORRENTS/USERS Join Discussion!!!

i need everyone's help. in 2 words, there will be a new page, TOP 20, it will have both torrent charts and user ratings. torrents charts will be shown in 14 (so far) different ways, each of which will give points to these torrents, most for 1st place, least for last place, and these points combined from all 14 (so far) other ratings will form the Ultimate Bill Board Rating, accumulated it will show how much certain torrents are demanded. same with users, although this needs to be tested and tested out, how much who will get and why, all this needs to be discussed. maybe users shouldn't get no points, just the satisfaction of being in the top20? what's right in here? i was basically going to award immortal points (to users) for this, but still leave seeding as the main cornerstone of the points-acquiring process.. will these points overshadow seeding points? gotta test this out somehow... or use even more math to see probable outcomes if one person wins all 1st spots all day long... ghm... i don't think that'll break 100-200 points per day, but still... all these awarded points both for torrents or users aren't final and can be discussed.

below are categories of charts and ratings planned by me so far as thorough as i could imagine. but of course one person cannot think of all the interesting things. so i'm calling for your help, my friends, to imagine and spell out more of these categories for torrents or for users. if you're going to suggest any, please use formats listed below.

* most downloaded last 50 days [5], last 10 days [10], last 24hrs [25]
* most rated (by total sum of all user-ratings) last 50 days [5], last 10 days [10], last 24hrs
* most often rated (by total times rated) last 50 days [5], last 10 days [10], last 24hrs

well, thanks, but the question still stands - should we have the system award points to users as shown in second half, or should we not have that feature, cause it might be well out of balance, and make millionaires too fast.. =)

My apologies i skipped over part 2 to that question.

It would be nice to have an underlying award system, would make TM more fun and rewarding in the same instance. People seem to get a real buzz out of spending rewards and then getting return. Testing it may be necessary so it doesn't over shadow the seeding reward (this is still the most important??)

What about other rewards to spend immortals on? Was there any deveopment with ringtones or things alike?

these charts can also be accessed from the left Vertical Menu, right under the 4 icons (temporary placement, later it will be moved down the menu), or from the special New Button left of the clock on the Control Panel.

soon to come, TOP 20 UPLOADERS charts. as mentioned before, word "uploaders" here is used to describe everyone who uploads & shares new torrents on tribalmixes and doesn't refer solely to "uploader rank" staff members.

when i want to find the hot sets on TM i know where to go  
they are designed in a great way, but what you can do is rather than keeping it yellow let users choose what color they want the writing with

i have no idea what you're talking about. there are numerous skins for the site. yellow in one skin isn't yellow in another.

that is why i never recommend using Colorful Text in torrent descriptions: white on black in your skin will be white on white in some other skin.

i tried most of the skins now, and i mean
this part in most is yellow, so what i wanted to say is why dont you give users the option to change the color

if you haven't noticed yet, almost all promised - was delivered!! as of 8am nov 29 the other significant part of the New Top 20 has been started:
TOP 20 : USERS
this section is called to acknowledge and appreciate the input of various users and user-groups as much as reward them. after some consideration, it was decided to run this collective score on its own and not to associate it with the immortal points. although there will be ways to exchange one for another, if such a necessity comes. as with torrents, each and every presence of your nickname in any of these top 20 pages means some small points go into your Billboard-Rating (bb-rating), which basically is how we measure your work being appreciated by tribalmixes community, the bigger this rating will grow - the better you're appreciated around here, your work admired and your every entrance made a grand one... =)

why i said "almost" in the beginning, is because one vital part is still missing, that is Navigation and Narrowing, well, let's say two parts. Navigation will allow you to see what happened in top20 an hour ago or a month ago, and Narrowing will allow you to see the advancement this particular torrent or user has done in any of the nearly 50 of the New Top 20 categories.

[ Top 20 : Users ] has been invented and created for fun purposes only. although anyone is allowed to be proud and to boast a little about their positions in these ratings, cause there're 32k people here, and only 20 get to be in the lists, and same with torrents - only 20 out of 14k are allowed to be seen easily on top...

with so many pages/categories being involved in these new charts, it was suggested to have the last page you've been looking at to be called upon your re-entering of the top20 page on your next visit, so a simply cookie was introduced, this new TOP 20!!! link in the left vertical menu will put you on your last browsed category when you click it to come back to top20 page.

you want competition?? there's a great tool to measure your standings in one that's happening right now on tribalmixes!! see how your torrents are snatches and discussed and rated one by one compared to other torrents or get statistical overview of your positions as a user (uploader/sharer) amongst other community members, see how your torrents are snatched all together and on average, how people talk of them and how they rate them, and for all fun that there is, see how much data-transfer you make and/or cause people to have. =)

this thread will be directly linked to the NEW TOP 20 page, everyone is welcome to state their likes and their dislikes of the system, it's all open for discussion and is in process of being perfected. get involved! =)
