Seeding & Improving ratio

(user gone) on May 23rd, 2006 / post 5184
I'll get staight to the point, the instructions on this site to build up a ratio are bloody hard to get your head around. How anybody manages to understand them in under 4 hours is anyone's guess. The site is hard to navigate and the wording is written by site engineers who can't be arsed to properly explain solutions to those who (like me) want a solution in one sentence, not 50. I'm too god damn busy to work out poncy protocols in several paragraphs, just tell me what to do in one sentence and leave me alone to my thing. That's all I ask. For example the site simply says to seed the torrents in your client, or words to that effect. What the hell does that mean? And who gives? Level with me, this only music, and all I want to is to rob the odd set to bung on my Ipod. I would love to share my own sets (I have over 20GB of Sasha) but appararently I must build my own ratio up first before I can upload!! jesus I'm prepared to give but I've got share what I've downloaded first, right?! who knows. Firstly I've deleted the sets i've downloaded so what now? Sure, I should have read the rules. Oh, the rules! Rules are fine if they're easy to understand. The long and short of it is that I want sets that I haven't got and I'm prepared to exchange rare deleted material to those that want it. But again, I can't upload these sets untill I fullfill certain criteria.

Jesus I've even bored myself here. Please can someone talk english and give me some basic help here that allows me to manage my portfolio in this bulky, rotund, blunt tool of a site.

i.... understand what u mean....
but answer me to one question: if it so god damn hard to seed and do whatever u mention, how is it possible that thousands of users do not have ratio problems???
we didnt go to college to get our ratio to where it is!!!

Here is the best thing you can do.
1) Find a VERY popular dj that is d/l on the site.  Figure out who is liked most (Digweed, Sasha, Armin are all good examples)
2) Wait for one of these popular DJ sets to be u/led to the site.
3) Grab it as fast as possible.
4) Seed it as long as possible.

It really isn't that hard.  If you want to upload all your sets all you have to do is go to the forum "[spp1] Upload [Offer]s and [Request]s right here" read the section rules and then offer something.  If you u/l one or two or more things right then it's really easy to upload a lot more.

 Okay this is my point of view, not having ratio problems means u r seeding ur torrents. which means u r sharing ur music. And its not only about music for me at least.... sharing music is one thing but also sharing help, point of views and wishing eveyone the best of luck, Tribal mixes is a great community:smile:

  • you downloaded 1 GB from here and uploaded 7 MB !!  ... do you call that sharing?
  • do you know anything about torrents? it seems no .. saying you want all in one sentence is NON SENSE .. you have to read and read then read more .. this is what we all did
  • if you feel like you don't have the time or the ability to read, then I tell you with all respect, this is NOT your place .. go find another one
