Why Why Why Electro???, page 1

I can't understand whats happening to the music scene, I love progressive and tribal house but now every one is turning to electro which is sooo boring music in my opinion.
First it was lawler turning from tribal to electro and now its digweed..can't believe I am saying this about him but he is delivering really dull and lifeless sets these days. I use to love him and his every set was so much precious to me but I am not downloading anything from him because its always the same confused and random noises and nothing else..where is the man who produced album like GU Los Angeles??? And above all what is so good about electro???I see nothing in it..progressive or tribal house is much much better than electro.
Can anyone shed light on this??

noo...electro is awesome...there are enough djs who are playing prog and tribal...i dont understand u...
there are so many prog sets from frisky every week...we have featured dj lover4o who is playing great prog and tribal...what do u want...digweed was never a tribalist...   about lawer ok but...there are more!!

I want old digweed back...i don't want to bring him down from my favorite list.
And I know digweed has never been into tribal but I was just saying that some big names are turning to electro.

ya i use to love digweeds sets like the one from fabric in 12-05-2005 that one is awesome now when i listen to a dgweed set i feel sick from all the noises...he sucks

yeah .. lawler and digweed, the same story .. i really wonder how could digweed accept for himself to play such noisy synthy shit while one day he played such great gigs like Crobar, Miami 2001 and his essential mix with sasha back in 99 was one of the sets that brought me to this scene .. ALAS :(

Electro electro electro.....There are some great sounding electro tracks and then there's some trashy cheesy sounding electro tracks. I'm from Melbourne and electro has been huge hear for the last 2 years. I'm over the electro sound (trashy stuff) I feel its just a faze and people will start to realise whats cheesy from the great tracks. The only electro style music i play has to have a funk, progressive and tribal edge to it..... i still love my tribal and progressive.

i love electro like the kind that sander plays...im against the boring electro wich has no charechter like lawler's sounds some dead tracks nothing speacial in them ...

soon will dissappair :) be sure.

 the main styles will remain. progressive, tribal, deep & soulfull house, funky. these will never change.

U maybe right in a awy about Lawler and Digweed, and there r alot more who changed thier style, but what can we do! Lawler was king of tribal now???? he is so wired...
Maybe 1 day they will notice what they have changed to!!

first i want to say i am no expert or anything
but i have been listening to electronic for a long time
and yeah
progressive house is my fav

and i get bummed everytime i dowload a digweed, chris fortier or even satoshi set and find it all electro

i read about it though  

and supposedly it all started last year in ibiza

intoducing resident night at pacha with sasha and lawler back to back failing to impress
and all the prog venus earning much lower than expected, while new places and resident nights playing electro and techno-ish doing better.

so i think it was a boredoom thing, and no matter what
we must say and try to admit change always brings good stuff
specially in music


for me
the best sets ever were back in 2003 and 2002
the perfect delta heavey tour ( sasha and digweed )
hernan @ womb tokyo
and deep dish defining GUs (Moscow and then Toronto)

but none the less
its all damn great music and excellent djing

I can say only "Why why Why don't you shut up"

Why every DJ has to play "progrssive" or tribal or whatevere it is

And one more thing why all of you keep on calling this rhytmless and having no power in it music electro (for example Dominic Eulberg's or no matter who I'm so tyred of all those labeled Elctro DJ's it hard to find real electro mix lately)

The real elctro is pumping and energizing the people and for those of you progressive fans wich are the best  moments in your fav sets arent the moments with more electro sound in it or it is the rest of the mix when I'm about to get asleep.

And after all  aren't we all listening ELECTROnic misic

As for Lawer I don't think that now he plays electro more like minimal but that is my opinion and I don't like his newest style too.It was really good around last New year but not now

Think of being an old DJ ... if you had invented the progressive sound and you had played it over 8 years ... then what ?

Think of being a young, unknown DJ ... do you always want to play that stuff for what those old guys are known for ?

Think of both and you get the key why "older" DJs are going for electro now. Yes, for me it's mostly boring too. No wonderful meldies, no pumping basslines and poor sounds - no power & energy at all. It's always the same - some are doing better and some don't. The only thing why I'm bothering is because many djs spin the same electro sound. So there is no real choice in going crazy on the dancfloors    

How real & good electro/techno can be ... you have to download some sets of DJ Hell which is in my opinion the old master of this genre without being too boring.
