My best party/rave was Rabbit in the Moon at Nocturnal Wonderland outside of Los Angeles in 1999. I had no idea who or what they were and I was BY MYSELF, becuase I didn't have a single friend that wanted to go with me (I had passes so it was free) it was the coolest underground experience 3v3r.  I used my name on the list to get some guys in w/o tickets by handing them my bags and saying they were photographers, so I had good vibes from the start.

OK, OK, I see some people have listed several so I'll add one or two more that moved me deeply.  I'll start by saying that I've seen Donald Glaude spin more than a dozen times as he's from the NW of the US where I live now.  But this particular party he was really on his game.  It was the Funky Tekno Tribe 7 Year Anniversary in SF, and headliners were Daft Punk (spinning), DJ Dan, DJ Sneak, and Donald Glaude.  Everyone had solid sets, and Daft Punk was SUPE`r cool, but Donald Glaude fucking blew that shit up like a mofo.  The whole warehouse, which was done up with lights like a gothic cathedral,  was pumping their fists in the air for two hours of Donald's air horns, sirens, squelches, bleeps and blips of techno funk.  I've never seen anyone rock a crowd so solidly as I did that evening in SF (save maybe the Beastie Boys).

One last touching moment I'll share came at a desert party in CA called Oracle.  We got into the party with some bogus email printouts (we passed off as tickets) from John Aquaviva's web site.  Derrick Carter was the closing act at a party that had been going for all day and all night and it had come to sunrise in the desert.  The other tents had all shut down, and my friends and I thought the whole thing was over when we heard a woman's voice singing a love song coming from one of the tents.  We didn't know who Derrick Carter was or that he's like the best morning set DJ 3VAR.  We soon learned of his prowess by hearing his track selection.  They moved the tent away from behind Derrick so we could all see the sunrise coming up over the desert.  There were only about 200 or so people there, maybe that, because everyone else had left since they thought it was over.  It touched me deep down in my soul, dancing to Derrick's soulful sound in the middle of nowhere with a few other dreamers.  My friends and I left saying "What a DJ, who was that guy!?!"
