the design is great, horrid sounds funny, follow web standard is not a priority here, we are kinda unique, but the point is you dont need the old design to experince the atmosphere here

I never said having a unique experience is a bad thing. It's just hard to navigate around the site. I have to click multiple times just to get to view the torrents, to get to the forum, to look at awards, etc.
I like a friendly and unique atmosphere, but I also like functionality. :)
I use Fire fox and I happy with the new design on it, maybe the old design is a little bit faster but this one is really making every thing easy and in front of you, you don't want to click on many links to a certain page and also lots of banners with a lot of information about your status, also maybe you don't have the upload privilege but believe it's much much more easier than before and every thing is detailed link the date and the quality of the set , and now by all information about the status of u r self while downloading a set . if you get back now to the old design now u may find some of these features but believe me the new design is much more better for every one. ( in my opinion )

Is the old design more like the original TorrentBits source?

yes and no. old design was build on tb-source, but it only has maybe 20% of the original code. as you may know, since you're aware of where it comes from, original tb code didn't have even a simple control panel... anyways, old tm.com design is COMPLETELY same as the new design, the only difference is there are no tabs on control panel. and vertical menu on the left is build in, while in new design it is optional.
as for 'multiple clicks' problem, it is done so that you cannot click (hence refresh or load new page) more than 1 link per 2 seconds, that is done so that people who gets frustrated by delay of 5-6 secs of page load (sometimes, rarely but it happens) ad starts clicking link many many times wouldn't create jams of 10-20 ajax calls for same page going to their browser...
ps. new design is 100% (twice) more functional than the old design, less time consuming and is easier on the system/server (resources). and an ability to set old design active is given to those having so many points or whatever, only for the reason of old design being eliminated, and if you finally can check up on the old design due to your points amounts, - remember, it's not a prize, (i mean, having the old design operational), it's just an option, only available to old/experienced users because they insisted. i simply don't care if a 100 of the 18k users uses the old design, but all new things i'm planning/making have been (for half a year i'd say), are and will be based for & on the new design. like 'my downloads' page isn't available in the old design...
pps i've talked to many users about this "stuff", so far VERY few of them have given constructive criticism, that have evolved into something... web standards... HUH... funny... smart words.. are they based on something deep? dunno...
ppps anyways, you wanna talk about it? be more specific. i can also throw in some smart words... but i don't. cause i respect my opponent.

I'm curious, because the default layout for the site (unless it's extraordinarily non-compliant with Mozilla Firefox) looks horrid. I don't know if a single web standard is even followed. The AJAX scripts are nice, and they load certain functions very quickly (which is a definite plus). However, the actual functionality of the site is worse than a YTMND meets MySpace and Geocities.
Note, I like the sets on this site, just not the design. Constructive criticism is a good thing. :)
