I'm not one to put a negative damper on things BUT..... c'mon .

If you really understood 'everything you need to know about Djing & success ' the definition of " success" being the capitalisms  financial version - I.E - Get rich or die trying as they do .

Then you wouldn't write a book explaining to all the other capitalists how to make it in monopoly land because you'd know that your capitalist definition of success rely s heavyly on having a lot of clueless people buy the crap you sell them    


Being a good Dj is easy .  

Feel the Rhythm , Love the music and be Artistic with that love

ok i agree with some of your words but you exactly didnt read it so you dont exactly know what does he mean by success...he is explaining in that book how to have an agent booking and how to get yourself a good one and how to promote yourself its not about how you  mix or feel the music its about having a good agency booking and this business stuff anyways you could have it and if you didnt find it useful you have a 60 day money guarantee back its up to you

Rhythm is something you naturally feel on a instinctive level. reading may give you a direction, but it can't give you the inner feeling needed. if any living thing is to be truly successful on a' individual level'  in this existence, it has to learn to instinctively   know the difference between whats natural physical law ( truth ) & pure imagination ( Fantasy ) .  

A tree can only grow as high as it's roots grow deep!  well approx hehe but that is a proverb .

I think id have to go with IB1 on this one, you dont need a book to find your groove! its all about character and listenineg to what you like! imo, very well put IB1!

ohhh IB1.....      yeah seem to hate danny rampling & me   anyways i agree with ur words but i think also the book is a bit useful cause i read it        

of course it is useful.. but you and IB1 were talking different things.. you're bending more on the process of becoming a successful dj, steps that need to be taken besides obvious "play", "feel", "dance", "love all 3" to actually make it your career, maybe, and again - it's easy to play on weddings and home-parties, but it's quite a bit harder to play in front of many people that came specially to hear you, and it's way harder to get to the situation when people will actually come to hear you spin, and that's where rampling steps in with his book, helping and advising on how to literally get that gig.

ps. i haven't read the book and am not going to. i'm just speculating on what would i personally write in such a book. of course sharing your djing, mixing and twixing tricks would be plain stupid, but sharing the info on agents and strategies of "dj as a businessman" - i would write about that..

pps. whatever anyone thinks, i personally do think tribalmixes has given jump starts to dozens of great djs, some of them evolved into having real-life gigs, others stayed behind their bedroom curtains, but all in all in general tribalmixes could be a vast chapter in that book... =))) just kidding... =)))

Dont get me wrong but selling books of type "how to become..." to wannabies has been the most profitable thing on the book market in the past ten years.Titles like "how to become rich" are so fuckin fraudulent that you have to be a complete idiot to buy it (no offence ).And by the way who the hell reads books???
