with that old one, i think series 2 or 3, that was still free to use, when they started making it payable, they still used the old version nicely, but it's not the idea.. the mainline of this topic is the simplicity of the program, and it still allowed them to produce quite nice output, sometimes even getting a round of applause.

it was a very intuitively simply design, with a minimum of triggers/buttons, and minimum preloaded effects, only like flanger and a couple more.. so here's how it looks like, i think they're still doing it this way..

as you can see, we simply open mp3 folders on the bottom of the screen, and drag'n'drop mp3s onto two big circles - "turntables" i guess here.. they show length, bitrate, which you can match by using hand-adjusters or magic wand. then close to wand small blue buttons regular three basic frequency ranges, cross-fader, and it can also memorize positions for looping, i think that would be under the "arrow down" button..

anyways, when looping was found i personally stopped, cause i didn't do it as good as them - two of them actually, dj Musho and Muaddib. so they went on, and practiced into very good understanding of beat-matching and many other basic techniques of a real DJ, which was quite remarkable. we had quite a few gatherings and many unforgettable nights playing with that software while being in the changed reality (stoned)...

well, as i can see now, from us three, i ended up running this joint, dj Musho has 2 shows on di.fm, he bought himself lp decks, mixer and some more hardware i forgot what and does quite nice mixing there. and muaddib keeps promising to send me some, but always it's just promised, but it's ok, maybe one day he will do it, he also has decks and does mix some track or two a night, he says, but dayjob is exhausting... well... music is the power!!!

atomix and virtual dj arent very good for pro mixing, maybe learning how to mix but Traktor Ableton & MixMeister are ways better

first of all remove ur capslock
virtual djs effects are funny in compare to ableton lives.virtual dj has one of the worst warp/pitch anylizers i have ever heard.. if u go much below or up the tracks normal bpm it sounds like crap
if u want to mix pro use something else.i see u have a controller.. its a shame using it on vdj
cheers

I have tried Virtual DJ, and a Tracktor... I do not think a shame to use a Virtual DJ. It's just soft... Everyone use the most convenient for him a program, similar to how many producers write their tracks and remixes in Fruity Loops :-)
