Dear Paul Oakenfold

I am writing you this letter because you need to get a fucking life. You were a great and amazing deejay, your mixing talents were never great but your track selection took people into another world.
You were great from 1993-2002 but you have been shite ever seen. I could honestly careless that you sold out and moved to Hollywood to try to get your then wife's acting career going  . We all know she cannot act   :-D. I am asking you to refrain from the re-releases of the classic tunes. Look PPK - Resurection was FUCKING 2001!. Now you re-release it because you simply hope the kiddies who download your shitty current sets and are not too old to actually see you in the club but buy lots of the merchandise and the music. Perfecto has not done shit since 2001, it used to be great when you released great releases by Timo Maas among others. You need to stop re-releasing Bullet In The Gun (that was 1998, great tune) but stop trying to re-release please!. Adding new mixes from hasbeens will not help it either. Please also stop re-releasing a new mix of Beautiful Place (perfecto mix) every year. Love the song, love u2 (well the older shit) and the remix because it rocked (that was 2000 but grow up).

Since I am asking for lots of stuff, I should continue to ask you for other things. Can you please stop selling out like Tiesto and the Swedes playing stupid boring mashups from songs that never should have been released?

You have done a tremendous amount of good for the scene but please do not trash every single piece of good memories that people have left of you.

P.S - Can we re-release 29 Palms's track from 2002 in a better quality

Thanks
Andy

P.S 2 - I do not think I am asking for much!

@ Andy.... Now why does'nt that rant suprise me, IMO  we should remember the good times he gave us.. The courtyard, Home London = Good times. For that alone Oakey is a legend, and you can't say that about many Dj's    ;-)

Another thing is that he keeps re-releasing 'Grace - Not Over Yet'

More like Grave? - Not Dead Yet

I do like his Full-On Fluoro show though.

Although if he starts putting 'Bullet In The Gun' and 'Not Over Yet' into the mixes... I shall never listen again.

That's why one of my most respected Trance DJ's is John 00 Fleming.

Okay, so his name is a bit naff, but he has stayed true to his roots and never allowed his sets/tracks to get commercial.

Suggestions for your next threads Andy: Dear Armin van Buuren....... or Dear Swedish House Mafia or is that Dear Swedish Trouse Mafia?

It does coincide with him growing his long hair that he got shit and went over the US... to become a major sellout.. however I only remember him from the days at Cream...Milton Keynes Sanctuary and many other nights I have seen him at...

the one album I played to death when I was on operational tour for 6 months in Northern Ireland in 1996 and still have today....is this bad boy...

I haven't heard it in ages, but still love it today, thats how I remember him
