Mate, I used to do that many many years ago, I had my fork truck licence (gas) along with my man-up licence as well as other indoor electric fork trucks way way way back in the day.....now I'm a mna of leisure but going back to work after a "few" months off contracting in IT as a Unix analyst!!

I was a Chemical Engineer... but I gave it up and became a Surveyor (QS) .... I gave that up eventually and I moved to France to renovate knackered old stone farmhouses with my family..... next learn French properly (!) and ...... who knows...... but I tend to change careers like some people change their trousers!

at least you have a monday to friday job and can take vacation at christmas off
I work in retail for Canada's largest volume furniture and appliance retailer. We have 230 stores. I work as Merchandising Senior (well was Merch Manager at another store this year but the stress and my wife nearly put me in hospital with a breakdown). Its a fun job, you deal with changing the showroom and keeping it looking good with current products which is a really difficult job. I work weird hours, which means Tuesday to Saturday and I work 1-9 on Tuesday and Wednesday and open the other days. I tend to work a ton of hours at different parts of the year, which means I'm really tired. The pay is decent, the benefits are outstanding. I really enjoy the job but long for a 9-5 job. The biggest issue is blackout periods, during our 2 tent sales, you cannot take vacation. So its basically no vacation from Mid August to usually late sept then we have a competition on the best looking store, which means you work crazy hours. You can take vacation but your bosses usually do not let you Usually I get a week in November and then its work work towards boxing day and boxing week, the biggest time of year. We do 30% of our annual business in that time I believe. You cannot take vacation during december, so you cannot visit with extended family for christmas, which is the only drawback to my job. Retail is a very busy and very crazy place to work, its a lot of fun and rewarding but I long to take a week off in december and spend time with my wife's family.
Probably go back to being a manager next year but the company I work for, usually hires from within. I went to a part timer working 10 hours a week to a merchandising manager within 8 years.
