Is the Pioneer CDJ-2000 Nexus good or bad., page 1
Horrific.....
Great technology.... Daniel Kandi sums it up perfectly!

I think the monster has already been created and Pioneer was the final nail in the coffin, it will have the purists running for cover, however you can't polish a turd when it comes to DJ sequencing and no matter about the sync button, shit DJ's will always play shit tracks and that will always be prevalent with or without a traffic light system...
I use mixed in key, but no software is perfect, its not infallable, you have to have a good ear.. and you can't buy, bottle or inject that, it comes naturally so I don't think much will change, I will stick to Abelton for my studio mixes and my A & H Xone DX for out and about!!!

everyone wants to be a deejay these days and since you add the computer doing the work for the twats now. They think its easy. Creative minds always trump that trash. Personally i like to see the deejay who plays stuff no one is playing. They just look harder.
Daniel Kandi summed it up tho. Too many kids trying to be deejays...lol....serato/ableton can only hide so much

The big news today has been Pioneers announcement of the CDJ2000 Nexus, “the industry’s first multiplayer to be compatible with rekordbox™ DJ software on iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, Android smartphones and tablets.”
Essentially an upgraded version of the 2009 spec CDJ2000 that works with more than todays standard media of CDs, laptops (via Serato/Traktor), USBs and HD Cards.
It could be seen that Pioneer are looking to take more control of variable media inputs before anyone else and at the same time creating less opportunities for common DJ software such as Serato and Traktor
Thats not all though, the major feature that has a lot of people huffing and puffing has been its ability to “Beat Sync” that “lets you choose which new songs are automatically beat-matched to the master deck” so “DJs can now focus on taking their performance to new heights through their mastery of loops, cues and new live edit functions, all perfectly in sync.”
Hmmm… it gets stranger still.
“The CDJ-2000nexus makes mixing in-key effortless. Tracks are analysed by rekordbox and the CDJ-2000nexus browser incorporates a simple traffic light system that shows you which songs will mix well with the master deck.”
So wait, a platform that syncs tracks on up to four machines and gives you insight as to the mixability of tracks with whatever is playing on the master? Yep.
We’ll give it the benefit of the doubt at this stage as the real innovation being championed is the ability to sync up set cues, loops and cut tracks which really means… being able to remix tracks live.
But is that what people want?
It seems to us anyway that that level of performance is only suitable for certain DJs while allowing those with the cash to jump the hardwork queue with features that make the skill of DJing a whole lot easier.
That and iPhone requests in clubs via Wi-Fi just aren’t floating our boat.
We’re interested to see this in action though, expect them to land late September.
Article,Stoney roads.

Sync-button day it seems... Love it or hate it, it's all your own fault. YOU the bedroomer. Wanting to be a DJ..... They just smelled the trend. Fair game to Pioneer
