WHAT HAPPENING!?! (up here on tribalmixes.com), page 1

slash ProDanceCulture on November 21st, 2013 / post 61515
hehe.. so proud with the subject, i had to put explanation right there...

anyways, here are some new things im about to unleash:

1. exactly 1070 torrents - ratio-free megapacks of 900MB+ are not ratio-free anymore

2. ratio-free Wednesday stops indefinitely (will be replaced with personal ratio-free hours/days very soon)

3. for now all ratio-free promotions on torrents are off (100 snatches and/or 180 days + tm category), awards for them are off too. this will be resoled in the nearest days: awards to uploaders will be restored and applied post-factum, all will be functioning, without actual status change to ratio-free and thus awards won't be issued for their downloads. the latter is permanent.

4. ratio-free for megapack is now 5k points, same as any other torrent

5. banners can be added now with external links (for extra points fee) - promote your thing on tribalmixes.com!!

6. wiki/djlist torrent lists are now covering both torrents and releases.

7. banners on the right are a bit redesigned...

i'll continue posting these little things here...

Yeah, I think in the long run this will all be for the good of Tribalmixes     Too many people had it too easy here for a long time. All good as far as i'm concerned! :clap2:

I strongly believe that being underground is so much better for TM, the other site I am a member of is off the radar, no US festival shite and it functions very welll... always quality over quantity...will remain so indefinitely!

having a star next to your nickname is a definition of a 'no-free-loader'...

so next few things:
  • forums tinkered with and a bit redesigned, just a big, increased font sizes and some layouts changes..
  • now there are forum links on the right, please, participate in those damned forums... it's for your own goods!! =) lolz now there is also no link in main menu to forum... should i put it back somewhere? i need room for future developments in there, so only as a submenu link...
  • shoutbox a bit polished and clarified... enough of your searches in shoutbox!!
  • some new menu links added and some stuff renamed/icons changed

    :w00t:  :w00t:  :w00t: now wait for it...  :w00t:  :w00t:  :w00t:

  • uploader rewards are back, not as before, but maybe even better!! now each (next) 100 downloads on any torrent will yield a 500 points reward to the uploader. this replaces the one-time 2000 points reward for the ratio-free status achievement on first 100 downloads. no, now we don't promote torrents to ratio-free at all (only for 5000 points, no automated promotions, afaik), but we do reward the uploader, and 2k points will be accumulated on 400 downloads, where 1000 downloads will produce 5000 points (in ten awards). so the limit is not there, and all old or new torrents are in this game. uploaders, past and present (and i say past because some are not active anymore, but now they'll start earnin points every time their old torrents get next 100 downloads, like hernan's mercuryserver mix, will be yielding like 4000-5000 points to its uploader every year, since it adds about 1000 downloads every year passing) are about to start making mad points.... so i will keep an eye and maybe decrease the award to 400 or maybe even 200 points..... be prepared, this is not in stone yet..

did you and Leon mean that you liked the link on top, or did you actually use the submenu to look at the topics or access topics directly? i am still trying to click there for forum, but am getting used to seeing them on the right, i think it's way more comfy, no need to move the mouse.. that's what we're all about these days, right? less body movements is better..

on the other note, just finished enabling back all the checks for RSS subscriptions and feeds access.. before feeds were accessible without any subscription, generally speaking. now membership and subscription are checked and verified on each access to the feed.. generally i am looking to engage users to visit the site more. using feeds is still possible, why not.. only seedboxes will be more complicated.. or as before... ghm... should i omit the IP check?

Slash I would always prefer the forum links on the top, then hover over the latest posts, that way I can see if there is any new updates... on the right I have to force myself to find the forum link... you can't see what the time of the last updates, so for me I would prefer the way it was before to be honest ;-)

when i rework forums to use cache, there will be a few features in there, eg if you read the last post, etc.. anyways, i think it's time to start getting used to this, forums are going to stay on the right, i like it better this way myself.. i need room in top menu for new donations stuff and for videos/toons link that we discussing..

here we go, no more 27k ratio-free torrents, after the 1k megapacks a few weeks earlier, all old torrents have lost their ratio-free status. to be more specific, from now on, ratio-free status can only be enabled (for 5000 points as before) within first 100 days of torrent's life. after that any ratio-free torrent becomes not-ratio-free. this is being done mostly to show respect to those who seed torrents past their first 2-3 months, hey what am i saying, past first 2-3 weeks of upload..

next step - hardening the ratio rules... tightening the limits and such..

    nice, thanks for the update!

from now on, any re-seed request will cost you points, at least 1000 to submit it, another 1000 to send out messages to last 100 downloaders, another 1000 for 100 emails to go out as well as double-making-sure, etc, for 10000 points submit a request that'll message all the known downloaders and email ones with addresses on file... enjoy and enjoy!!

fulfilling reseeds now, on the other hand, will be a profitable venture, all the prizes listed on re-seed requests page are for the taking, if only you have the files to revive the torrent, to reseed it.

and yes, the only condition to get the prize is to seed CONTINUOUSLY for 48 hours. meaning that your seed must come and stay online for 48hrs in one shot, then you get the prize (and it doesn't matter if the actual user who submitted this request has or has not finished the download, - your task is to seed, i guess///
