did you know that GOOD JOB comments that can be done with 1 mouse click off of the browse page are actually counted as normal comments?

Nope, didn't know that. Thanks for sharing
Yeah i got that, but wouldnt these changes only promote spam on comments and forum?
I mean i am a long time power user here and while i didnt uploaded anything, i downloaded a lot of stuff and kept them seeding a loooong long time. So as far as i am concerned, i think i did my part very well. Meantime, all these years i've almost never posted any comments or on forum because: 1) i didnt had the time to browse the forums and 2) my long time seeding of each torrent was enough of a thanks to the uploader and the community, in fact a better thanks than a 6 letter comment on the said torrent.
And now i will have to just spam my way for the 20 comments and 10 forum posts just to be allowed to stay power user. Not really seeing the community and tracker benefit here...
The other changes, both visual and technical are great tho, so keep up the good job!

I'm totally with you on that , I'm a working man, I'm studying for my CCIE Security and I don't have enough time to chit chat on the forums yet I leave my uploads for a long time so that the community can benefit, the way i see it this is a good enough contribution, but also I decided to donate every now and then because for sure there are running costs for the site and I wanna make sure we stay alive, though I'm still looking for a proper way to do that donation thingy
but all in all, I love the enhancements being made to the site, great job guys !
I didn't know about that... good job I guess
im of the same frame of mind, ill spam my way to 20/10 as thats whats required.
Ill carry on seeding all i can and hope that the changes deter those who dont care

Ditto to all of that!! I was surprised a while ago to see my nym on a list of top posters under comments. All I was doing was thanking the poster for posting. More importantly, what I download I tend to seed for a long time and I think that's the important part (& good manners don't cost nothing...). I have a 9GB file that has a share ratio of 104.something. This wasn't a TM post but I treat all torrents (which affect my share ratio or am the last seed with reported leechers) equally.
I would like to post occasionally with the stuff I get time to listen to & record which is why I was glad to become a Power User. It seems petty (and a bit silly, with all respect) to be demoted because I don't really have time to peruse the forums (and not as familiar with this range of music as some might be) post there or to add irrelevant chatter in the comments field of the post.
PLEASE reconsider this change in the rules. You will lose a lot of seeds making the maintenance of posts more difficult. "Admin" can NEVER be a reason for anything.

you've said your word. thanks for the honest opinion. too bad you cannot answer, cause you're silenced. i can tolerate upset, disgust or anger with my decisions, but proclaiming me stupid and my decisions useless and time wasting, - well, don't waste your time anymore. download your torrents and be alone on this site of 100k users.
i am sure very few people will read this, but i want to spell this out anyways.
do it and don't complain.
or don't do it, and still don't complain.
the keyword here is "don't complain", cause i've had enough of this shit: "im a busy man who has no time for these stupid forums, and i will write a 5 paragraph / 20 minute post about it. instead of spending 30 seconds on each visit over the next weeks (or months) to do a meaningless 'what i am listening to right now' or 'count to xxx' post and get on with my life and downloads, and retain power user status, or get the status back later, when 10+20 posts are done, if it takes months. good-job link on each torrent been there for years - it's not for me, i don't appreciate other people's time and effort, i seed ergo i contribute, thus fuck all y'all, i don't owe you nothing, but i am entitled to everything. i won't even click that good job link, that doesn't even reload the page, takes half a second to post a good-job comment, no, never been interested even in that much work, 1 click - too much, i might rate this torrent in a few days, that is enough, useless spamming thankyous - this is not how i roll."
i hope everyone understands this is a summary of several opinions. and here's my final opinion for you:
you cannot know or decide, what is good for community, stop assuming your seeding is so fantastic, it rather only ruins chances for newcomers to have a high ratio from the start. and the effort spent on seeding, IMMENSE!!! i'll rather say those who seed torrents for months are LAZY TO REMOVE THEM FROM THE CLIENT, ah? how about that? it's easier to keep seeding than to stop seeding, which involves mouse clicks, while first option involves nothing at all... and i say i do know what's good for the community, - communal feeling, the phenomenon of social interaction, its presence, at least, sings of real people doing real things in this virtual space, that's how strong communities are built - by talking and knowing each other. and of course not by having the communal feeling that there are 2000-3000 people at any time have their torrent clients open and some of the torrents in those have announce string read 'tribalmixes.com' in it. it's our secret, that is how we are a community, by having clients communicate instead of us.
well, i repeat again, whoever keeps whining - will be silenced, read this message or not, -> beware in any case.

Wow, thats a lot of hate in one post.. I only wanted to state that these changes will not make the ones who didn't write before any comments or posts start writing and contributing in a meaningful manner. But above all, i respect an honest answer, even in that tone, because after all im only a "guest in your house" so i will submit to your rules, no questions asked.
Good luck!

one thing i don't get is: why all these silent power users are so proud of being power users, if this is not showcased in any way? what achievement is, if it is not acknowledged by others? write a goddamn post, show others you're a power user. upload a torrent. i don't know...
my dear friends power users.
we definitely know what we're doing. with these coming changes in ratio rules and visitations requirements, there will be barely 20k users left from 120k by the end of summer. probably half that much.

I'm with you guys also, I love this site as it provides a service I can't get anyplace else and I'll comply with the new guidelines but my primary contribution to date has been reliable, long seeding of my DLs. This me too post is also just a +1 post.
